What jobs in China pay
Updated 16 September 2026
What employers on SilkExpats are offering right now, in yuan per month before tax. The figures come straight from open listings that show their pay, so they move as roles are posted and filled.
There are not enough listings with a stated monthly salary to publish figures yet. Check back soon.
Reading these numbers
- Typical is the median: half the offers are above it, half below. The middle half runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile.
- Each listing counts once, at the middle of its range. Only monthly salaries in yuan are included; hourly and per-class rates are not.
- A group needs at least 3 listings before it is shown. Salaries employers keep private are never counted.
- Pay is only part of an offer. Housing, flights, a 13th month and whether the employer sponsors the work permit can matter as much — every listing on SilkExpats states the visa position.
- Tax is withheld by the employer. Some allowances are tax-free for foreigners until the end of 2027 — see reading a contract.
